Certified Impact Zone Instructor - as a certified Impact Zone instructor, Rich focuses on teaching each student the importance of getting into the proper impact position with every club. He realizes that each golfer has their own unique swing style, so he works with the student's own swing style and prioritizes what needs to be done to get the student to consistently get into the impact position that all great ball strikers accomplish. Rich Massey is a New Jersey native and has been playing professional golf and teaching golf for almost twenty years. He was a high school All-American, as well as a NCAA Academic All-American player. After college he played professionally on the Canadian, South African, South American and Nationwide/PGA Tours. While playing the Canadian and South American PGA Tours, he served on the board of directors. He has worked with some of the best teaching professionals in the business, such as Bobby Clampett, David Leadbetter, Mike Bender and Mitchell Spearman. Rich has been the Cal Poly volunteer assistant golf coach since 2009. He believes in an individualistic and simplistic approach to teaching golf, with the goal to be getting every golfer into a dynamic impact position, as well as keeping the club in a balanced position throughout the swing. Rich brings a tremendous amount of both playing and teaching experience and keen knowledge of all aspects of the game to the Academy.
